“We were advised of the deep need the Food Bank had, and we felt an obligation to respond,” said Long Realty Cares Foundation President Susan Barry.
While public contributions are accepted by the Long Realty Cares Foundation, the majority of the non-profit’s budget comes from Long sales associates, staff and affiliates.
“From agents to staff, the employees of Long are sensitive to the needs of the community, and their continuous generosity to the Foundation embodies the spirit of this season-which is all about giving of one’s self in whatever way possible.”
According to the Community Food Bank, each dollar contributed represents an estimated nine dollars worth of food items.
Today also marks the end of the Long Haul charity drive. For the first time in company history, Long expanded the event to include all branch offices; officials are hailing the effort as an overwhelming success-having collected money, food and items for Goodwill Industries, the Humane Society of Southern Arizona and the Community Food Bank.
