(TUCSON, AZ.) Long Realty Company has announced plans to participate in a number of charity and food donation drives throughout the 2009 holiday season.
Each individual Long Realty branch office has selected one Southern Arizona-based non-profit organization to support. Choices include Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Humane Society of Southern Arizona, Salvation Army and the Community Food Bank. In addition to these organizations, many of Long’s branches have decided to take their contribution further:
The Casas Adobes office continues its annual tradition of collecting comforts from home for 455th Air Expeditionary Wing at the Bagram Air Force base in Afghanistan, where a client of Long Realty Agents Barbara and Jack Murray is currently stationed. Donated items include blankets, slippers, flashlights, batteries, snack foods, toiletries, makeup, pajamas, games, sunscreen, CDs, DVDs, magazines and Christmas decorations. Last year, the Casas Adobes team gathered enough items to fill more than 10 containers for shipment, providing for over 500 troops.
The Green Valley office, 275 W. Continental Rd., invites the public to visit on December 9 when Santa Claus stops his sleigh from 2 to 4 p.m. Visitors are encouraged to bring a can of food for the Green Valley Community Food Bank. Santa and Mrs. Claus (Long’s own Tim Dugan and Laverne Cummings) will be available for photos with kids – young and old alike!
The Green Valley office also has plans to adopt a large family for the holidays through Green Valley Assistance Services. Each family member will receive a variety of gifts including toiletries, games, clothing and gift cards.
Similarly, the Dove Mountain office, 12080 N. Dove Mountain Blvd., will be working with a Marana school in adopting a large family. The public is welcome to contribute.
