Long Realty Co-Hosts First RUMBA-Pro Show

Long Realty Company is pleased to announce that they are co-hosting the first RUMBA-Pro Show for artists to share their recyclable art, while promoting a more environmentally-friendly Earth at the Long Realty Office at 1890 E. River Rd. on Saturday, May 21st from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday, May 22nd from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The RUMBA Committee of Tucson Clean and Beautiful will put on the event, which will feature the artwork of professional and amateur recycled material artists.  This is the first show that is specifically catered to non-student artwork.

“This is just the start of Long Realty going green.  We love to see what recyclables these artists work with, and they give everyone an earth-friendly perspective that we should all think about in our daily lives.  At Long Realty Company, we understand how important it is to create an environmentally friendly and sustainable community,” said Kevin Kaplan, Long Realty Vice President of Marketing and Technology.

“The professional and amateur artists have been looking forward to their art showcase for a long time.  We’re finally glad to give them their own show, separate from the students.  We can learn a lot from these recycled material artists,” said Barrie Herr, RUMBA committee chair for Tucson Clean & Beautiful.

Free parking for this event will be available on the southwest corner of River Road and Campbell Avenue.  Long Realty Company will also provide refreshments during the Artist’s Reception, starting at 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 21st.

Barrie Herr founded RUMBA in Tucson in the early 1990s to promote recycling by showcasing and holding a competition of art made out of recyclable materials among students.  Professional and amateur recycled material artists also have shown their work at RUMBA student events in the past.  RUMBA art has been on display at El Rio Neighborhood Center, the Children’s Museum, and at the SAHBA Home Show.
