Adding two new franchises, Long Realty grows brand in Phoenix

Never one to rest on its laurels, Tucson-based Long Realty Company grows its brand—and its market coverage—in the greater Phoenix area with the addition of two franchise offices: Long Realty Old Town and Long Realty Unlimited.

April Mauch,
owner /
designated broker

Located in the heart of Scottsdale, the Old Town office will concentrate on that market, at least to start. The Unlimited office, in Surprise, will focus on the northwest side of greater Phoenix (including Surprise, Sun City and Sun City West) but will field agents across the Valley.

Franchise offices are independently owned and operated but draw on the considerable support and exposure of Long Realty Company, a Berkshire Hathaway affiliate. Benefits of franchising include access to Long Realty’s leadership, cutting-edge information technology and marketing tools, training, referrals—and the name recognition of Southern Arizona’s leading residential real estate company.

The new offices bring the number of Long Realty franchises to 23; added to its 17 company-owned offices, Long Realty enjoys a powerful market presence virtually everywhere in the state.

Aaron Rivera,
co-owner / manager / designated broker

A one-person—herself—shop for the moment, Long Realty Old Town owner and designated broker April Mauch said her plans include bringing onboard about 10 agents within the year. “I plan to focus on Scottsdale at first,” Mauch said. “But as we grow, we’ll have agents working in every part of the Valley.”

Mauch said she aims to list a broad spectrum of properties, at price points from “about $600K to the multimillion-dollar luxury market.” While new to franchise ownership, Mauch is no stranger to Long Realty’s core values and operations: during a 10-year realty career, she worked with several of the company’s Phoenix-area franchisees.

“It’s a perfect fit,” she said. “I believe in giving back to the community and acting as a guide and advocate for my clients. Long Realty has the same philosophy.”

Norma Rivera,
co-owner/agent

Living up to its name, Long Realty Unlimited plans to be just that. “We chose that name on purpose,” said co-owner and sales agent Norma Rivera. “Our agents hate labels, because they limit what people expect. We intend to cover all niches, all across the Valley.” The brokerage has 17 licensed agents on its roster.

Why franchise with Long Realty? “The brand has national reach and national name recognition,” said Aaron Rivera, Long Realty Unlimited’s co-owner, manager and designated broker. “Long Realty Company is also part of HomeServices of America.” HomeServices of America, a Berkshire Hathaway affiliate, is a one of the country’s leading residential real estate companies. (Aaron Rivera and Norma Rivera are business partners but not otherwise related.)

Plus, the support Long Realty provides its franchisees is “definitely cutting-edge,” he said. “Technical support, outreach, brand recognition—it’s the best in the industry. It’s a good culture, too, with top agents working together as a team.”

“We did our due diligence,” Norma Rivera added. “We had other franchising options, but Long Realty believes in the same things we do.”

“We’re excited to welcome these wonderful offices into the Long Realty family of franchisees,” said Ann Sullivan, senior vice president of franchise and business growth. “The Phoenix-area market is among the fastest-growing in the country, and we intend to grow along with it. Long Realty Old Town and Long Realty Unlimited have the expertise, local knowledge and roots to help us do just that.”

And, she added, “Franchising with our company brings independent brokerages the tools and global connections to grow right along with us. Everybody wins.”
